Start by visiting the roof of the highest point in the city center, the 178-meter high, renowned Cairo Tower.
After this, take a hantour (horse-pulled cart) ride around the River Nile in the city center. Continue your gorgeous tour by taking a nice walk into Downtown, the stomping grounds of all the locals, where you can eat the most delicious ice cream from Queidar sweetshop while viewing the art-deco and neo-classic style French, British, and Italian architecture of this Parisian district (the Paris along the Nile). Enjoy a hot drink at one of its famous old cafes, such as Café Riche, where most of the famous writers, novelists, and politicians used to hang out in the good old days.
Then you will be driven to the Northern City Gates of Islamic Cairo to take in the astonishing nightly atmosphere of this medieval neighborhood.
Continue to visit Al-Muiz Lideen Allah Street, the thoroughfare of Islamic Cairo, which still carries the name of the fourth Fatimid Caliph and the founder of Fatimid Cairo in 969 AD. Explore the huge historical buildings from several different eras standing side by side, telling the history of Cairo, from Fatimid, to Ayyubid, to Mamluke, to Ottoman, to Muhammad Ali Pasha’s family architectural styles of gigantic buildings. Here is where you can take memorable pictures to cherish.
